Dorothy Zaumseil, 85, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- Dorothy M. Zaumseil, a Norwalk resident, died on Sunday, Dec. 27 at Norwalk Hospital.

Zaumseil was born on Oct. 30, 1930, in Stamford, and was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zvonkovich) Mravunac. She graduated from Stamford High School, obtained her bachelor's at the University of Connecticut, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and earned her master's degree from the University of New Hampshire. 

She was a teacher in Mamaroneck and Penacook, N.H. – finishing her educational career as a guidance counselor in New Hampshire.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald S. Zaumseil, 

Zaumseil is survived by her daughter, Kristen Zaumseil of Norwalk and her son, David Zaumseil, of Telluride, Colo.; her two granddaughters, Kealey Zaumseil and Kenzie Zaumseil, also of Telluride; and her aunt and many cousins. 

Calling hours are from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9 at at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Interment will take place at a later date.
